Champadevi Hiking Overview
Champadevi Hiking is a coveted outdoor activity among the travel junkies roaming around the Himalayan country Nepal. Located on the southwestern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley, Champadevi has no dearth of attractions to lure hikers.
From spectacular mountain and sunset vistas to the birds-eye view of Kathmandu Valley, a day hike to Champadevi blesses you with all the natural wonders. Furthermore, with the presence of the Buddhist Stupa and Hindu Shrine, the site has everything to garner religious pilgrims too.
Though Champadevi Hill hiking trails used to get filled with devotees in the past days. In recent days, it has become the famous hiking around Kathmandu Valley. Teemed with devotees and leisure hikers, the trails of Champadevi Day Hike lure you with abundant mountain vistas and natural scenery.
To reach the Champadevi hilltop, there are different route options available. Going with the easier one, we will take a drive. The drive is around 50 minutes from Kathmandu to Pahiro, a place near Dakshinkali.
Upon reaching Pahiro we will follow the stone-paved road that leads us to the upper ridge of Hattiban resort. Full of dense pine forest a walk from Pahiro to the Upper ridge of Hattiban Resort is quite exciting. The route from the ridge, demands some uphill walk.
Following this trail, we will proceed with our trek journey. After a while of the trek, we will find ourselves on a wider path boasting the marvelous views of Kathmandu Valley. Further continuing our hike from there, the views of the surrounding hills of Champadevi and mountain ranges greet us from all around.
Looking to the right, the soaring Phulchowki Hill mesmerizes you with its charm. Whereas the view of Chandragiri towards the right seems more appealing from this point. On clear days the eye-catching views of Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang, and many other mountains grab most of our attention.
After a few hours of ascending, there come the staircases leading us towards the Champadevi temple. Admiring the serene ambience of Champadevi temple we will spend some pleasing time here. Thereafter we will return to the Kathmandu Valley retracing the same route.
If you wish for something different, you can follow the Champadevi Hiking route of Machhegaon. Taking the drive-through Kirtipur from Machhegaon, you can return to the Kathmandu Valley.
Furthermore, if you are an avid birdwatcher or love to experience birdwatching in Nepal, you can follow the same route up to the upper ridge of the Hatiban resort.
From there instead of retracing the same route towards Pahiro, head towards the trail leading to Taudaha Lake. Upon reaching the lake location roam around the place for a while and then join a drive back to the valley.

I Just Just back from Nepal. It was so wonderful hiking organized by Mission Himalaya Treks and Expeditions Pvt Ltd. That visit was our first visit to Nepal. They arranged and welcoming us from arrival in TIA to departure TIA only one international airport in Nepal. In this visit, we spent a few days in Kathmandu sightseeing and hiking, Chitwan Jungle safari and Pokhara sightseeing with a short hike. we are very lucky with the Chitwan program we are able to see a bear in 2 nights 3 days programs. We did Kathmandu and Pokhara someday hike like Australian camp and Champadevi during a trip which is an amazing experience for us. I went to Nepal for Sightseeing and hiking in Kathmandu and Pokhara with my girlfriend. Mission Himalaya Treks And Expeditions organized a trip to hiking Champa Devi near Kathmandu, I found them a very professional and reasonable price. Hiking was so excellent but weather is not Perfect so we are not able to see all the mountain. just we saw some of them. But I request the guided sightseeing around Pharping to explore some monastery. The guide without hesitating to tell yes. the visit to the monastery was so excellent too. We spent a delightful day hiking to Champadevi with our excellent guide, Birendra. We hiked to the shrine with hundreds of prayer flags hanging in the trees above us along the trail. Birendra speaks fluent English and is a wealth of knowledge on many subjects. The scenery was gorgeous as we gazed down the valley below us. After a delicious lunch, we visited several Tibetan monasteries with awe-inspiring shrine rooms. The day ended with a cup of java at a local coffee shop. Throughout the day Birendra was attentive, engaging, and incredibly kind. I highly recommend scheduling tours with this company. We would definitely sign up for a future adventure with them.
